Jennifer began her work with Clare House in 2002. In the years since Jennifer has been at the helm, Clare House has seen tremendous growth and she credits that success to the support of a dedicated Board, committed staff and confidence of the community in Clare House’s mission.
Jennifer is a graduate of Millersville University with a degree in Sociology and recently completed a certificate program in Non-Profit Management. A graduate of Leadership Lancaster and Project Blueprint; active in the community, Jennifer serves as a member of the Health Advisory Board of The Community Action Program, Lancaster General Hospital Mission and Community Benefit Committee and Leadership Lancaster Program Committee. Jennifer is a Board member of Bright Side Opportunities Center, Leadership Lancaster, Family Health Council of Central Pennsylvania, and the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce.
Jennifer is most proud of her two children, Marcus and Madison and enjoys being involved with their extra curricular activities. She is committed to the mission of Clare House and feels blessed to be able to help so many women and children each day change their lives.
Shannon, Bower, Office-Manager
email
Shannon’s duties as office manager include running the front office and coordinating all non-direct service programmatic components like volunteer coordination and donations. Prior to coming to the Clare House, Shannon was a receptionist at Willow Valley Retirement Communities. Shannon received her BA in Psychology from Millersville University in 2007 and graduated with honors. She is also a member of Psi Chi, a nationally recognized academic honor society in Psychology.
Shannon was married on September 1, 2007 and enjoys spending her free time reading, relaxing with her husband, Scott, and playing with their two cats, Max and Magoo. She is originally from Danville, PA, but moved to Lancaster several years ago to attend MU.
Shannon chose to work at Clare House because she has a strong desire to help others, and felt that her organizational skills and psychology background would be a good fit for the shelter. The strength and gratitude of the women she meets at the Clare House are what motivates her to persevere each day and give 110% to her job and to the Clare House residents.
